So happy that Ivan Torres from Colvin Electric could make it for our appointment even though the day got away from him. I also appreciate the communication from Renee, who stayed with it when it looked like we may have to reschedule. When he arrived - after closing time - Ivan took his time, talked me through his approach, and helped me understand the basics of the issue. The best part? He fixed our problem! I'm a fan.

Colvin knocked it out of the park. They were incredibly responsive, on time, and did an amazing job installing the charger for our Tesla. Even found a better way to do the install to make it more visually appealing. Great work and would HIGHLY recommend. Also love the text notifications of who is coming and when.

I had a last-minute request to have a ceiling fan installed. Renee of Colvin Electric immediately accommodated me for the following day as requested. I got text messages and e-mails from them regarding when the electrician would be coming by. I appreciated Renee's great communication.

Santos came by, and he gave us a quote for how much each part of the job would cost. We asked him to get started, and he enthusiastically did it. Not only was he professional, friendly and great to talk to.. he also did the job efficiently and perfectly! We were so happy to have the ceiling fan installed. We even asked him questions related to our GFCI outlets and a power surge thing that was left by the previous owners. We also asked him for recommendations related to generators. He gave us great advice. Shortly after, Renee messaged me saying that Dave could come by that same day to check out what we needed for the generator. Dave came by right on the dot and gave us all the information we needed. Once we purchase the generator, we will DEFINITELY be hiring Colvin Electric for the install!

Pretty easy! I boarded my flight to NY this morning and by the time I landed I got a message that the work was done. I did not need to be there, nor did I have to explain anything. The new four outlet outdoor box looks great. They left everything better than it was when they arrived. Colvin is now on my list.

Hayward was wonder. Looked at everything I asked him to look at. Replaced what needed to be replaced and even cleaned up after himself. Nice conversation as well.
Because of CoVid-19 he was well protected with mask, gloves and even crime scene booties. I definitely recommend having Hayward service your electrical needs.

Right from the start I knew I was dealing with professionals. This is business as it should be with mature, to the point, detailed workmanship. First, there was a type written bid that was neater and included more work than three other companies that wanted more money. Michael makes sure the customer is satisfied. I heard compliments from inspectors on the workmanship. I would definitely hire Colvin Electric again.

bid for a simple interlock system for a generator was ridiculously priced. They were more interested is selling me a whole house surge protector and membership. Neither did I ask for. I am a contractor and install equipment all over the united states. I asked for a break out of the bid showing the price of parts and hours expected to perform the work. They could not show me that at all. It's a 2 hour job tops. I can't believe home owners fall for that gouging. Would not recommend

Hayward Smart was a real answer to a problem. He was very professional, very personable and thought through the desired outcome to find a way to make it happen. He took extensive photos of his process and shared them with me, which was above and beyond what I expected, but was very helpful in understanding the work he did. Hayward was thoughtful in achieving the desired aesthetic as well as the desired functionality, upon discovering hidden problems and repairs that needed to be made. I appreciate his work ethic and problem solving ability. Great job!! I will always request and recommend Hayward!

We needed two electrical outlets installed in our closet. I had called and emailed other companies, but no one responded to this "small job." I found Colvin through Google and requested an appointment online. Ivan showed up on time, was very professional, and did a wonderful job for a reasonable price. I would highly recommend!

Tim arrived late but only because traffic was so bad and I would know cause I-35 was really slow when I came home to meet him.
Tim stayed till late Friday night to find the issue to why some of my outlets weren’t working and in the process found that my closet light switch had caught on fire (in the inside) which could’ve started a house fire.
Tim couldn’t have done any better...seriously.
He is courteous, professional and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better.
I’ll be asking for Tim if I have any other electrical needs/issues.

We were impressed with the ability and willingness of Colvin and of our tech Ivan to tackle a job that two other electrician companies were not willing to undertake: fixing our old whole-house fan. The work was done promptly and at a reasonable price. We will definitely consider working with Colvin again and would recommend them to others.

Ivan installed recessed lighting for us. He was very professional yet kind and personable. He answered our questions thoroughly and installed our lights carefully and with great detail. Ivan Torres did a great job on our bathroom fan.. worked within the requirements that I specified, got the job done in a single visit, and cleaned up afterwards. Customer service was great to work with, as well. They helped me through the whole process and I highly recommend this company.

After an aborted attempt by my wife and I to install a wifi-enabled light switch in our new garage apartment in the Brentwood neighborhood, we decided to enlist the assistance of an expert to accomplish this task for us. Turning to the Nextdoor app for electrician suggestions, it appeared that Colvin Electric had many satisfied customers, and we made an appointment with them late on Thursday, September 5 - the earliest that they could accommodate us was between 11:00 and 2:00 on Monday, September 9, which was acceptable to us. After scheduling the appointment, we promptly received a confirmation e-mail.

On Monday at 2:00, we received a call from Michael, an office person, informing us that our service technician, Hayward, was delayed by complications with another customer's job, and he would arrive at my house by 3:30. I was somewhat disappointed, but Michael was very polite and apologetic, and I assured him that a 3:30 arrival would be acceptable. I immediately received a text message from Colvin Electric that introduced the technician that would be arriving, including a photo and a short biography. A Google map was also embedded in the text, showing where the technician was currently in relation to my house.

Hayward Smart, the Colvin technician, pulled into my driveway just after 3:00, introduced himself, listened carefully to what my electric issues were, and gave me a quote for the work. The price seemed fair, and we chatted while he worked - Hayward was neat, clean, intelligent and an engaging professional, and he certainly seemed to know his business well. He explained every step of what he was doing during the switch installation, and then afterward assisted me with setting up the app on my iPhone that controls the light switch functions. Everything worked perfectly. Hayward also rewired another 3-way light switch that had been problematic, and fixed that as well.

We were mightily impressed with Colvin Electric, and I would not hesitate to recommend this fine company to anyone. I intend to use them for any future electrical matters - they have earned a permanent place in my Contacts app.

Colvin electric provided a great experience from the estimate through to completing the job without any surprises or additions. I needed to have a 240 volt line and outlet installed to my garage. Hayward arrived on time and was accommodating for my family's morning schedule. He completed the work efficiently and the whole installation looks great. Hayward also left me some extra line to handle any future upgrades I may need neatly tucked up. The new line has been working flawlessly

Colvin provided updates by text message and email when your electrician is on his way with a photo so you know who to expect. The quote I received was reasonable and much better than the first quote I was given from someone else.

Outstanding service! The electrician Mr. Hayward was on time and within minutes he hit a reset button on my arc breaker and it fixed my electricity problem, to my bedroom outlets. He said it was no charge as he did not have to replace it. He said as a first time caller I would not be charged for the visit because no real work was performed. Future calls would cost a 49 dollar charge for coming out to inspect the problem. If work needs to be performed the 49 dollars would go towards the job. I will use them for sure in the future. It's been years since someone was that honest with me. He could of easily taken me for big bucks. Thanks!

The tech that came out was very nice and knew his stuff. He found that my
outdoor ceiling fan was killing my circuit breakers. He disconnected and took it down. No more thrown breaker. I would recommend Colvin Electric to others.

Wednesday morning May 15, 2019 I experienced major uncertainty about the unknown for getting electric power back into my house using all of the proper methods. I called Colvin Electric Company. My call was answered by Michael Galvez. He was going to be able to come over the next morning to look at the situation my electric breakers were in and discern the problem. An opening for Michael happened and he called with a request to come today, before my dental appointment. I agreed if it was in time so I could make the dental appointment on time.
I was in a hurry as I had a dental appointment in about an hour. Michael arrived, very outgoing, confident and friendly. We looked at the breaker junction box as I explained most of the lights in the house were either "blinking" or did work at all. In the matter of 30 minutes or less, Michael had pointed out the process of electricity flow, which components work not working, what was weathered so badly replacement was required.
Summarize of the pressure time due to my upcoming dental appointment, Michael displayed three choices on his handheld digital unit that had sets of numbers with details of key cost components for each choice.
Further summary - I had years of experience in electronics and was very comfortable with Michael's explanation including cost, comfort, and payback.
I felt comfortable then and now, seven hours later, I still feel like I made a great decision and made a great choice.
Thank you Michael for your meaningful way of presentation and understanding. Tomorrow will be an exciting day for my wife and I.
